It is no accident that the Karmic Contract is card number three.

Three feels like entanglement — strands wrapped together, weaving in and out, knotted in ways you can’t see until you start pulling the threads apart.

That’s what a karmic contract is. You’ve lived lifetimes together, showing up in each other’s stories for different reasons, different roles. And over those lifetimes, you’ve created a karmic knot — an energetic binding that now, in this lifetime, needs to be untangled so you can both be free.

A karmic contract is still a soulmate connection, and it can feel just as powerful — sometimes even more powerful — than other soulmates because it carries a very specific purpose. That purpose is to resolve something left unfinished. It might be a wound from a past life. It might be an ancestral entanglement where your family lines crossed in a way that created imbalance. But always, there is a block in the flow that needs to be cleared.

Once the knot is untangled, the contract is complete. Many times, the person will simply fall away from your life because the bond that kept you connected has dissolved. If there’s another purpose between you beyond the karma, you might continue in some form — but with just a true karmic contract, once the lesson is learned and the energy freed, you are done.

These are often your strongest teachers, and they bring your strongest lessons.

Higher Vibrational Alignment

The most empowered way to meet a karmic contract is to recognize it in the moment for what it is: a teacher.

When you understand the lesson is the point, liberation becomes possible.

Yes, it will probably be uncomfortable.

Karmic contracts often rip open old wounds, pull shadow parts into the light, and challenge your identity. But that’s how the knot loosens.

The work is not about getting power over the other person. It’s about taking your own power back. Over time, your energy and theirs have tangled together — their power in your hands, your power in theirs. The liberation comes when you return what is theirs and reclaim what is yours.

In that moment, the hold breaks. The lesson is complete. And you walk away lighter

The biggest illusion with karmic contracts is the same trap we’ve talked about with other soulmate connections: attachment to the person because of the strength of the connection.

You feel the resonance — and it’s real. They are part of your soul pod, your soul family. But that doesn’t mean they are meant to harmonize with you. In fact, karmics are almost never here to harmonize. They are here to disrupt.

The disruption isn’t cruelty — it’s the mirror that shows you where you are off balance. And you can’t fix it by fixing them. You reattune yourself by recognizing the lesson and integrating it.

If you try to keep a purely karmic connection in your life after the lesson is learned, you’re signing up for unnecessary suffering. That’s the shadow trap: thinking you can turn a karmic into a life partner or long-term ally when the contract was never meant for that.

Some connections are here to calibrate you through harmony.

Karmic contracts calibrate you through misalignment. They knock you off balance so you can learn how to set yourself right again.
